Newly refurbished, well equipped

Now, it retains all the charm of a rural Norfolk cottage, but has been brought up to a very comfortable standard.

All the modern conveniences you would expect at home:

     - central heating

     - television, DVD, wi-fi, Sky movies

     - fully equipped kitchen & dishwasher

     - bath and shower

     - all bed linen provided

Two bedrooms upstairs (a double & a twin) and a single downstairs.

You will be warm and cosy cuddled up on the leather sofa in the charming lounge.

There are all the facilities you need to cook, but if you do not feel inclined then the Bowling Green Inn is just at the bottom of the yard and allows dogs. [Check out their menu here]

Nine minutes walk to the Quay — follow us…

Unlike most accommodation in Wells, Ebenezer Cottage is in a secluded location so you are away from the crowds. There is enclosed parking for your car. Yet it is only a nine-minute walk up ‘The Street’ to the Quay for award-winning Fish & Chips. Children will love catching crabs off the Quay wall and we have the lines, net & bucket ready for you to borrow, as well as games or the garden.

The Cottage has had a varied history. Not that long ago, pigs, horses and poultry lived alongside two generations of our family. The old water pump still stands outside.

Ebenezer Cottage  provides you with an opportunity to get away, relax, and enjoy the  Norfolk pace of life. This quaint cottage  provides all you need, whether a couple or a family, to explore this varied coastline.

Only two and a half hours from Nottingham, 1½ hours from Cambridge or Peterborough — it feels like you have really got away.

It is two cottages and a barn around a central courtyard giving ample off-road parking for two or three cars. There is an acre of private garden; space where children can safely kick around their football or you can enjoy the tranquil sun-trap.

Ensuring you have everything you need to enjoy your escape

Upon your arrival, the cottage will have a supply of tea and coffee (including some Tassimo pods), sugar, milk, washing up liquid, dishcloths and tea towels, dishwasher tablets and washing powder. Hopefully you will be able to settle straight in and get on with your holiday without delay.

We live in the cottage next door with our Labrador if we know what time you will be arriving then we will be home to welcome you. We will make sure you are comfortable and point you in the right direction for anything you  may need. If you require more than one parking space then please advise us before your arrival.

We have children and know the boot is often chocka when you go on holiday. To help you, we have provided some of the things you might need to borrow free of charge:

Wells is very dog-friendly, and so is Ebenezer Cottage. There is plenty of space for your canine friend to wander around freely, and a portion of the garden is totally enclosed if he or she is an escapologist.

Please be aware that Ebenezer Cottage is over 150 years old. Therefore, it is not quite as accessible as a modern house would be. There is a step down into the cottage and the stairs are a bit narrower and steeper. We have done what we can to aid accessibility, but if you are unsure then please contact us. Safety is very important to us — click here to see what we have in place.

There are plenty of other hostelries to sample in Wells and along the coast. Going for a walk and rewarding yourself with a pint or a glass of wine is what holidays are all about!
