Ebenezer Cottage

Newly refurbished, well equipped

Now, it retains all the charm of a rural Norfolk cottage, but has been brought up to a very comfortable standard. See our Facebook page for pictures of the renovation.

All the modern conveniences you would expect at home:

     - central heating

     - television, DVD, wi-fi, Sky movies

     - fully equipped kitchen & dishwasher

     - bath and shower

     - all bed linen provided

Two bedrooms upstairs (a double & a twin) and a single downstairs.

You will be warm and cosy cuddled up on the leather sofa in the charming lounge.

Nine minutes walk to the Quay — follow us…

Unlike most accommodation in Wells, Ebenezer Cottage is in a secluded location so you are away from the crowds. There is enclosed parking for three vehicles. Yet it is only a nine-minute walk up ‘The Street’ to the Quay for award-winning Fish & Chips. Children will love catching crabs off the Quay wall and we have the lines, net & bucket ready for you to borrow.

The Cottage has had a varied history. Not that long ago, pigs, horses and poultry lived alongside two generations of our family. The old water pump still stands outside.

Ebenezer Cottage  provides you with an opportunity to get away, relax, and enjoy the  Norfolk pace of life. This quaint cottage  provides all you need, whether a couple or a family, to explore this varied coastline.

Only two and a half hours from Nottingham, 1½ hours from Cambridge or Peterborough — it feels like you have really got away.

It is two cottages and a barn around a central courtyard giving ample off-road parking for two or three cars. There is an acre of private garden; space where children can safely kick around their football or you can enjoy the tranquil sun-trap.

Future plans

Ebenezer Cottage is two cottages that can become one. The first half has now been renovated, and when people are not staying we are doing the same for the second half. This will give six bedrooms, three bathrooms, three sitting rooms, two kitchens, to comfortably accommodate ten people. Perfect for grandparents, mum & dad, and children to come away on holiday together, with everyone having space of their own and enclosed parking for three cars. There are not many places in Wells with this much room.

The renovations are well under way and there may be opportunities to have both linked cottages for your use over summer 2017. Please enquire if you are interested.

We have children and know the boot is often chocka when you go on holiday. To help you, we have provided some of the things you might need to borrow free of charge:

Please be aware that Ebenezer Cottage is over 150 years old. Therefore, it is not quite as accessible as a modern house would be. There is a step down into the cottage and the stairs are a bit narrower and steeper. We have done what we can to aid accessibility, but if you are unsure then please contact us. Safety is very important to us — click here to see what we have in place.

The rooms

There are all the facilities you need to cook, but if you do not feel inclined then the Bowling Green Inn is just around the corner and allows dogs. [Check out their menu here]

There are plenty of other hostelries to sample in Wells and along the coast.
